From what I gather Bautista is no longer seen as an OFer, hurting his market.
Apparently teams were scouting Bautista as a trade option at the deadline and all realized they were watching a DH.
Thing is, having a trash LF just doesn't hurt as much.
And we know how sound the org is with their defensive placement in the OF anyway, so either guy would get a lot of help.
Not surprised to see Rangers back in on Napoli, they want the whole crew back, working out Hamilton.
Hamilton's crack head buddy Ron Washington is next to go back

According to @DozierLADtrade earlier today on Twitter:

Source still confident deal goes through, ball in Twins court now, feeling is they can't pass up on the JDL+Alvarez portion of offer, third piece, while not what the Twins would ultimately prefer, shouldn't stop them from agreeing at end of day. Ball in Twins court now for sure.
Not sure how credible this guy is, but he sure tweets a lot. According to him JDL+Alvarez has been the deal on the table for a while now, but Minnesota wants a third piece. Twins have no interest in Puig and very little interest in our salary dump pitchers. Rumor is Minnesota wants a high-upside low-level minor leaguer as the third piece. No third team is even close to the JDL+Alvarez offer, so it looks like it will either be the Dodgers or nobody.

I have to think it would already be done if they were offering JDL and Alvarez. Personally, I wouldn't do that, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Dozier and Bautista would be a nice punch up to the lineup.

Yeah, who knows for sure. Just passing on info. For whatever reason, that person is very confident that JDL+Alvarez is on the table.

If that's the offer and the Twins haven't pulled the trigger, they are stupid. And the trade is not gonna happen.

They've already been outed for creating fake rumors that not just one, but 5 other teams had high interest in Dozier. I don't think we're dealing with the smartest FO in the majors.

I'd rather trade for Braun than sign Bautista. At least Braun is still definitely a good hitter and is probably going to continue to be one for the next few years.

I want to see one of JDL and Alvarez pitch for this team in the future. Dozier is not worth both. Who knows if he can replicate last year, or even get close. If the trade isn't JDL and lower prospects, Dodgers need to move on.

Guys source is fucking with him and there is no way Alvarez is in that deal. Dodgers have invested too much in him to package him as the lesser of two prospects in a trade for a two year rental. He's in this deal only if he headlines it and not much else goes with him. Fucking idiot says we've been haggling over the 25th-30th ranked specs in our system would go with the two which is a joke. It doesn't take a whole month over minuscule pieces.

Braun's battled the injury bug and is getting up there in age too so I fall considerably short of that type of confidence in him.
One, maybe 2 years is what they can use tho, just to bridge to Bellinger and/or Verdugo.
They need to revisit that trade after getting Dozier since the Twins don't want Puig

Are you still operating under the illusion the FUCKTARDS will do anything like any other GM ever has in the history of this game?

Nothing is ever easy with them.

Mahoney? I'll take it. While he may have a quarter century on me, I can aspire to having hair like that in my 70's.

Don't believe this one bit. If Alvarez alone was offered in this deal, it would have been done by now. Some people already regard him as the best player in our system and I have seen a couple individuals who have said that he is already one of the top pitching prospects in baseball. The dude dominated and has the ceiling of an ace pitcher, the Twins would be insane to let not one, but two potential pitchers for the front of the rotation slip by in this deal. It has been well documented that Alvarez, Buehler and Bellinger are untouchables in our system and I fully believe that. It apparently took a lot of thought for the team to even consider moving De Leon.

If the Dodgers offered that and the Twins countered wanting more, we would have heard "Deal dead" long ago.
