  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

    Wade Davis to the ROX, 3yrs/52M
    That's a lot, not really sure about his arm either and that's before considering the altitude
    Davis stepping on his buddy Holland's toes a little bit tho

    I'm sure DBB who has seen them both would covet Buehler more, not to mention AJ even though he isn't signed there has seen them both. I don't want to trade Buehler but I can't see that FO not asking for him in any trade scenario.

    I feel
    Like Yelich is vastly overrated. His best asset is years of control. Alvarez, Verdugo could headline a package and it’d be enough. Look at what they got for Ozuna, headlined by a #6 and 9 organizational prospects of a not as good STL farm system. And while Ozuna doesn’t have as many years of control, he’s like better than Yelich

    Give or take a guy, or not, I pretty much agree.
    Generally, if they're willing to giving up 4 or 5 quality young pieces I would hope it'd be for an everyday AS caliber guy like Yelich and not for an arm, arms being so volatile and all when it comes to health.
    But with LAD's having a slot available for a big game type of starter, I wouldn't mind if those guys went for Archer either..maybe replace Will Smith with Yasmani, maybe not.

    And Ozuna has a monster payday coming fairly soon, so that was likely factored into his talks.
    Yelich was always going to be their best chip, best way for them to add impactful, young player personnel

    I don't agree about Yelich because he is considered a 5 tool player by many experts. The fact that the Marlins made a bad trade doesn't necessarily ensure similar returns for a guy like Yelich. Who knows they could be stupid but to me that fact that Yelich hasn't been traded yet would lead me to believe they value him far more. It doesn't help them that he wants out obviously. Can't wait until after the new year what happens with the mlb.

    If Miami is letting DBB impact their trade discussions/personnel decisions they're in more trouble than people think.
    At some point I think we all have to expect Jeter to move on from the last FO's guy.
    Wouldn't shock me if DBB were looking for a new gig in 2 or less years

    With the quickness, and NYY fans that give Jeter a hard time for doing so, he'll just ignore them.

    • According to Jon Heyman, the Yankees would seriously consider signing Yu Darvish if his price were to drop.

    so then it wasn't your vote for @BlueMouse that put him over the top as "favorite moderator"?

    I wondered why he insisted on double secret ballots

    but who else were we to vote for?

    @Rubricon ??
    @irish ??
    @TAFNAC ??

    and he probably 'lost' all the votes for @MZA

    I get the feeling, other than some possible rehab BP sign ups, I think we are done until the trade deadline.

    The only possibility is signing either Dervish or Arrieta on a cheap team friendly deal due to Arrieta's drop off last year and Darvish's WS meltdown. The chances of that happening and staying below $197M seem slim to none.
