    I've talked about this before, but the injuries to MadBum and Samardzija give the Dodgers a golden opportunity to step on the throat of SF early, because the two play 10 times in the first 27/28 games (depending on whose schedule you look at), and the aforementioned likely would have made 4-6 starts in those games, now Cueto likely makes 3 and that's it.

    This team has been a notoriously slow starter. With the injuries to the Giants and D'Backs, they have an excellent opportunity like you said to get a jump on the season. Another great thing is that they don't face the famously hot starting Rockies until about 8 weeks into the season when that franchise usually is in the middle of a rut. So the team COULD have JT back by then or potentially even by the second series at Colorado in June. Either way, when looking at the schedule it is favorable for the Dodgers in that by the end of May the club will be done with the Marlins, while having faced the A's, Reds and Phillies at home. The only out of division toughies is that they will have played both series with the Nats likely without JT. Dodgers have the opportunity to get on a nice roll before things get a little heavy come the mid-end of June. They SHOULD be comfortably in 1st by the end of May and then should start distancing themselves from there.

    I remember when that was exactly what I wanted DSP to be.
    Each microsite devoted to the top stories created by local writers.
    Not news, not updates, just in depth articles by hand picked writers using RSS feeds.
    I was going to do it just like the athletic but obviously without our own writing staff, just piggybacking on local papers with free content.
    Instead of the LA Times get stuff from the LBPress Telegraph or other such papers that sometimes have good writers.


    ... but then i got high
