no harm intended Chris.. and I celebrate youthful accomplishments... but how much 'scouting' is possible from a 22 year old?
He was a minor leaguer for a season and pitched in college for four years. I understand the hesitation, but he's an awesome dude who knows the game and has quality work ethic. I don't have that playing/scouting background so I have to start from the bottom, so to speak
So in short, a pretty impressive résumé. Doesn't matter the age if you know the game. I'll be 80 and still won't be able to tell a curveball from a slider.
Curve ball is the one Uribe can't hit, slider is the one Kemp can't hit. You're welcome, I'll be here all week.
Curves are also generally clocked much slower than sliders..low 80's to low 70's and sometimes slower. You see 90+mph breaking ball..good chance it wasn't a curve
Cubs in there for Shields. Makes a lot of sense for them. I hope they do it. Down with St. Louis by all means.
LOL way to go Chris... Hell I thought a curve ran in on righties and a slider ran away... so much for the beer goggles...
great movie reference one of my favorite lines... - "You know, I'm no slouch..." - "Don't kid yourself, you're an incredible slouch." one of those movies that i'll stop and watch whenever it's on same with animal house
Trust me, as a Pinehurst caddie I know'em all. We use them all the time, along with lines from Tin Cup. I personally like a lot of the lines from Major League, applied at the proper time...like when a player hits his drive over the tree line right..."Jussssst a bit outside..."
